A New Year

We returned well from France and have been getting back into our routines in the last couple of weeks. Iluka is happy to be home and we have played a lot in the snow now that the temperatures are less severe.

Nothing much has happened, and I have rarely taken out the camera, though I often think about it. The thing is that things seemed more photogenic in Perth, I felt more like sharing it. Everything here is grey and cold and dark a lot of the time. I am not a fan of this climate and don't feel like taking photos most of the time...

I promised Iluka a children's kitchen for Christmas and had a look at what was available on the market. I wasn't happy with any of them and decided to make one for her completely from scratch. I bought the wood for it, paint, fabric etc and this is the completed project:

Iluka likes it, which is nice, and I hope it'll bring her hours of fun. It was fun to make for me, and I feel very lucky that I have time to do this kind of thing while Iluka is in daycare.

The belly is growing all the time and I start to really feel the physial constraints of pregnancy. I feel the baby move many times a day and I can feel how she grows and needs more and more space. It's amazing to feel her, to feel her reacting to Seb and Iluka's noises. She will arrive in less than three months. Madness.

Ditte, that kitchen is absolutely amazing! Me and Al were both looking at it just now, and wondering if we could make something similar for Erin!! It's so cute, and sooo much nicer than anything you can buy!!!!

You are a real artist. Sewing, knitting and carpeting. It would be really handy to have you around :)))

Big hug from Jutta

My profound jealousy has prevented me from commenting until now. But I must grow up. Can you come back and build one for Mahalia please? and bring those gorgeous wee pots and pans!

Thank you for your comments. I would love to make some more, it's fun, but it get really expensive. I thought I would be able to make it cheaper than many of the ones in the shops, but it got more expensive actually.
And those pots and pans are sooo cute. They are just perfect for this kitchen!
